THE Marcus Revilla Blog!

Welcome to our little corner of the world. We hope you find our blog to be informative as well as fun. We are hoping to find this blog as additional information other than our website and to offer up to date photos, whether they're weddings, seniors or anything else that crosses our path. I'm not the best at keeping the blog going every single day due to our load here at the studio, however, we will make an effort to keep it going on a consistent basis. We invite our current and potential brides to enjoy this blog and share your comments with us.

Just a little bit of trivial information about myself. I am a huge die-hard Aggie fan...always have been, always will be. I'm not the person who knew they wanted to be a photographer since the age of 3 months. I was the one who laughed at the yearbook staff in high school. I love animals and have 3 German Shepherds and 2 cats. If I wasn't a photographer, I would love to be a professional motorcycle racer. Yes, I love motorcycles. I have a BS in biochemistry and find myself sometimes dabbling in my old science textbooks from college; yes, I still have them.

We certainly invite you to check out our website and if you have any questions about any of our services, please don't hesitate to ask. Take care!

Kelly + David = one exciting wedding!

It has been quite some time since we’ve had a Sunday wedding. Well, this was definitely not your ordinary Sunday wedding. Many of you will remember Kelly and David’s kick ass engagements we did downtown and her recent gorgeous bridal session. The moment we did the engagements, we knew we were going to have one awesome wedding. And it definitely held true. Both the ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful new Grand Hyatt. The guest list was around 400 so we knew we had to be ready for anything and everything. The wedding presented many Jewish Traditions and it was wonderful to witness something different. Everyone was super cool to work with and we met many new friends during this special event.

I do have to warn you that the slideshow is 200+ images so grab a snack and sit back and enjoy!

Leslie + Sergio…our new Chicago friends!

We had the great opportunity to work with Leslie and Sergio on their big day! The San Antonio natives now live up in Chicago and the story behind how they met is something you would think you would only read about…but not for them. They met on a flight on their way back home from Chicago and became inseparable from there on out. The wedding day was gorgeous and started at the Cathedral of San Fernando and the reception took place across the street at the Main Street Ballroom. We definitely had a blast working with them!!!

Enjoy!

Jennifer + Michael are married!!!

Hey guys!

We have been super-slammed! Thanks for everyone’s patience throughout this time of the year. We have had some gorgeous weddings and bridal sessions along with some great engagements to share. For now, lets kick off the new postings with Jennifer and Michael! They allowed us to share their special day and we had a blast. Jennifer is a hoot to be around and as you’ll see in her slideshow, she was nothing but smiles all day. The wedding took place at the beautiful SW Craft Center.

Enjoy!

Abbey + Jonathan…my former intern is all grown up!!!

Hey guys!

Man, has it been ever so busy in the studio! Well, here is Abbey and Jonathan. Abbey was once an intern at our studio (and one of the best assistants I’ve ever had!). Since day 1, she always insisted that one day I would be shooting her wedding and low and behold, she was right!
We headed over to New Braunfels and ran around and had a blast. We definitely wish the best for the two of them!

Enjoy!!!

Kelly’s Bridal Session!!!

We were definitely looking forward to working with this bride. If you remember, her and her fiance gave us an awesome engagement session so we knew we were in for a great bridal session. We simply ran around town, again, and found some cool spots with great accents and textures. There is nothing better then a bride who is up for anything and works the camera like Kelly did. Their wedding is just around the corner so we definitely want to wish her well on her big day!

Enjoy!

Binita +Ricky…one of our most memorable engagements!

Well, here they are guys! We spent almost 3 days of shooting these engagements up in NYC. Despite the weather, we made the best of it. The moment we landed, we pretty much went straight into shooting, beginning in Times Square, the Subway and attempted Brooklyn, but that can be pretty scary at night, so we headed back. LOL! We also went up to the Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Plaza to get some shots. This is the place where you see the cool lights overhead in that small room. It was funny because the lights are generated by movement so everyone in there wasn’t moving since they were afraid to get in our shot so we had to urge them to move to gain the lighting effects. The next day was very rainy so we headed over to Serendipity (yes, that Serendipity…only Kate wasn’t there… :( ) and had one of the best sundaes anyone could dream of. From there, we headed over to Grand Central Station. Talk about overwhelming. It’s crazy how many people go through this place in any given day. The next day was a wrap-up with our trip down to Brooklyn where we walked and walked and walked till we found the shooting spot. Binita and Ricky were great sports and we definitely thank them for the great hospitality and excellent hosts that they both were. We’re looking forward to their 3-day wedding in June with a guest list of 800! I’m also looking forward to grabbing some awesome shots of Binita during her bridal session…be on the lookout for that! Oh yeah! We also did some shots in Central Park. The architecture was very complimentary to their traditional attire. Enjoy! Due to the amount of images, we had to create a slideshow for this post.

Trianna + Rob…remembering old friends!

Hey guys!

It’s been awhile, but so much has gone during the last couple of weeks so we need to catch up the blog with some new weddings and info!

Our trip to NYC was awesome! During our visit, we had the chance to hook up with Trianna and Rob. We did their wedding back in 2005 and never had the opportunity to do engagements; so we figured this would be a great chance to get some casual shots of the two of them. We started out with some shots at their apartment up close to West Central Park. We went off walking and venturing everywhere from Central Park to Grand Central Station down to Tribeca. It’s great to see this couple still so much in love. We enjoyed seeing them again and look forward to seeing them upon our return in August.

Enjoy!

Shannon’s bridals…WOW!!!

We had the great opportunity to work with Shannon this past weekend and create some great bridals. Shannon has been a dancer in Houston, so we knew this ballerina was going to bring some awesome game to this shoot…and she did! Not bad for someone who drove in straight from Houston and went straight to hair and make-up then to the shoot. Wow, these brides are amazing! Hair and make-up was provided by Veilvet.

Enjoy!

Sofia + Mark are engaged!!!

Sofia and Mark were great sports on this chilly Saturday morning. Talk about weird weather that we have been having! Anyways, we headed downtown around 8:30 and decided to just run around and act like silly little monkeys!!! I love monkeys. Sofia is an engineer and Mark is a nurse so they make an interesting couple! :) One thing we definitely noticed is that they are very lovable and it shows!

Enjoy!

Tara + Rufus = Loving and fun!

Hey everyone!

So what is better then having a couple who really digs each other and up for anything? When this couple are fellow alumni from St Mary’s, that’s what! We met Tara and Rufus downtown on a Friday evening and decided to just have fun with everything. They were a blast to hang out with and by looking at the photos, this is one couple who are really into each other. Looking forward to their big day in 2010!

Enjoy!
